Bathroom Contractor Recommendation
I'd second the recommendation for Doranlink. I had a truly grotty and damaged original bathroom, and Terry Coull and his team managed to make it look nice and new in little more than a week. There's been a lot of discussion about regrouting on this forum - it was expensive but I think the end result justified the expense. The project included re-plastering the ceiling, polishing the bath, replacing smashed tiles, and plumbing work. I ended up with a shiny, clean, functional original bathroom that looks welcoming and new rather than 40 years old. Terry knows all the ins and outs of the Barbican and is good at explaining what can (and can't) be done. He's very responsive by phone and email (not always the case with contractors, in my experience) and he and his team were friendly and easy to deal with. I also employed them to deal with sundry other restoration/redecoration tasks around the flat.
Stripping Paint of Painted Window Frames
I have just moved into a flat in the Barbican. The previous owner painted the interior woodwork on doors and window frames. Does anyone have any hints, tips or recommendations for removal and stripping of paint?
